Lumen privacy policy

This policy explains what information Lumen uses, why, and the choices you have. Lumen is published by QAppsLab.

The short version

  • You do not need an account to use Lumen.
  • We do not show ads, track you across other apps or websites, or sell your information.
  • What you create in Lumen is stored on your device unless this policy says otherwise.

What we collect

Lumen uses the following information, only for the reasons listed.

Camera image, used live to measure light
To calculate exposure. Frames are analysed in memory and discarded immediately.
Shot notes and optional reference photos you save
To show your notes. Stored only on your device.
Approximate location, only if you turn on location tags
To record where a frame was shot. Stored only with that shot note on your device.

What we never do

  • Sell or rent your personal information.
  • Use your information for advertising, or show ads in Lumen.
  • Track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.
  • Read, listen to or look at the content you create, unless you send it to us for support.

Services we rely on

Lumen does not share information with any third-party services.

Storage and deletion

Information stored on your device stays there until you delete it in the app or remove the app. If you use your device's backup or sync (such as iCloud or Google backup), copies are kept in your own account under that provider's terms.

If you email us, we keep your message and our reply for up to two years so we can help with follow-up questions, then delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR in the European Union and United Kingdom and the CCPA in California, you can ask to see, correct, export or delete personal information we hold about you, and object to how we use it. Since most information stays on your device, you can usually do this yourself in the app. For anything else, email privacy@qappslab.com. We will respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Lumen is suitable for people aged 4 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Lumen uses information, we will update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes we will also tell you in the app before they take effect.
